Extreme lag caused by overheating Empty Extreme lag caused by overheating

Well as you guys may have heard or witnessed, I was lagging so hard for the first 2 weeks of gameplay with BFBC2 (average lag of 450-500). I managed to fix the issue on short term basis, as in it takes at least an hour and a half before any serious lagging and I barely have the occasional lag compared to lagging 2 minutes, dying, waiting a minute to spawn (not kidding, I timed it), spawning, dying again, overall playing 5 minutes on a 30 minutes round and dying 20 times. Now, how did I fix it? Hockey tape my friends, hockey tape.
As you can see, a simple elevation of the back end of my laptop with a roll of tape, manages to let enough air in to cool the fans, causing them to effectively last longer. I used to use blocks of post-its but it had no effect whatsoever. Now I'm waiting for something to blow up or to start smoking. Anyone have any idea if this method can cause more harm than good or if a better solution exists? Having a slight elevation and angle is actually nice, that and not burning my fingers when touching my laptop. And good news stad, I'll be hunting you down from now on, since you know, I can actually do it now lol!

I would take the laptop a part. Clean it from dust . put new compound on the cpu, clean the cpu fan with something that contains alcohol. That will stop overheating for couple weeks or so. If the overheating wont stop , the must is getting an additional fans for the laptop. The best effective out there are Laptop Cooling Pads. Those aren't so expensive right now.

Thank you very much, I'll try to get someone I know to do that, money is running pre-tty low these days. Really though, it's the first time in a long while that I don't have to lift my laptop up in the air for a minute to avoid burning something on the desk.

Just make sure, if you will clean it , or someone who will clean it, do not touch heatsinks, with your fingers, (that way you wont leave oil from your skin on it) Best way is to put some air on the parts and than clean it with something with alcohol.
