    BFBC2 Blue Screen or Wavey how to fix it Empty BFBC2 Blue Screen or Wavey how to fix it

    Post  Cpt.IRON Sun Mar 07, 2010 3:40 am

    I had some problem with my resolution set up .. when im playin ( solo mode ) theres like big dark sreens pop out and some rippley and wavey thing moving around , so I finaly found a guy who solve this problem and it works great for me

    heres what he found

    First off, In your documents folder, you will find a folder called BFBC2 .

    Inside that you find "settings" .

    Inside the "settings" file you will see this ...

    [WindowSettings]
    Width=1680
    Height=1050
    Fullscreen=true
    RefreshRate=59.882999
    VSync=true
    [Sound]
    Quality=medium
    VoipEnable=true
    SpeakerCount=0
    [Graphics]
    Effects=low
    Soldiers=low
    Vehicles=low
    Overgrowth=low
    Undergrowth=low
    StaticObjects=low
    Terrain=low
    Shadows=low
    Bloom=false
    HSAO=false
    MSAA=0
    Water=low
    MainQuality=custom
    Texture=low
    DxVersion=auto
    Aniso=1
    Detail=low
    RenderAheadLimit=2
    Fov=55

    These are the STOCK settings for the game with everything turned down in mp settings options in game .

    Anyone familiar with FPS should have no problem understanding these settings .

    The settings I have seen meantion on other sites and in other discussions were "sound" and "bloom" and "hsao"

    As you can see in my modified "settings" ( below ) I have changed these .

    "sound" = high , for some reason this matters .

    "bloom" and "hsao" should marked false as well .

    I also modified my FOV to 90 and its much better on my widescreen ( 22" 16/10 )

    My modified settings ...

    [WindowSettings]
    Width=1680
    Height=1050
    Fullscreen=true
    RefreshRate=59.882999
    VSync=true
    [Sound]
    Quality=high
    VoipEnable=true
    SpeakerCount=0
    [Graphics]
    Effects=low
    Soldiers=low
    Vehicles=low
    Overgrowth=low
    Undergrowth=low
    StaticObjects=low
    Terrain=low
    Shadows=low
    Bloom=false
    HSAO=false
    MSAA=0
    Water=low
    MainQuality=custom
    Texture=low
    DxVersion=9
    Aniso=1
    Detail=low
    RenderAheadLimit=2
    Fov=80

    As you can see I also "forced" DxVersion to = 9 , this was said to make a dramatic difference ... and it did .

    Now this was the cherry on the cake for me ...

    +fullproc

    Anyone have a clue yet ... LoL .

    Basically, it seems the game DOES NOT engage all cores on startup !!!!

    WTF you say ?

    Exactly .... sigh*

    So this little morsel ( +fullproc ) goes on the end of your exe. path like so .

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Battlefield Bad Company 2\BFBC2Game.exe" +fullproc

    Just like a script or an RCON password in the COD series .

    Now when you fire up the game ALL PROCESSORS WILL BE WORKING !

    This has fixed my "rippley / wavey" screen ... but most importantly ... NO BSOD YET !!!!

    WOOO HOOOO !!!!!

    Please, everyone try this out if your having issues and repot back to me if this works for you .

    It worked for me and I can actually play the damn game now !!!!

    wait? were to do u go to enter fullproc exactly?

    You just add it to end of your exe .

    Right click your BC2 Multi Player Icon on your desktop , go to properties, you will see "target" .

    The target line should look like this ...

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Battlefield Bad Company 2\BFBC2Game.exe"

    This is the stock target line or path if you will to your BC2 .exe .

    Your new line should look like this ...

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Battlefield Bad Company 2\BFBC2Game.exe" +fullproc

    EXACTLY like you see it, DO NOT put the " after the +fullproc, leave it after the .exe"

    There is also a space after the .exe" and +fullproc

    Then hit apply or close the properties window and then just select your BC2 MP shortcut on your desktop and open your game .

    The game will start like normal EXCEPT it will now be +fullproc too .

    I had the same issue, all I dod was 'force' it to run in DX9 as described above - and no issues.

    No only if I could force my internet connection to run at a speed that was designed sometime this centry - id be right.
